RANTS! RANTS! RANTS!
Tuesday, July 31, 2007
I apologize for using profanity in this post. It's just that, I couldn't take it anymore! I feel like I'm gonna explode.

BAD TRIP NO. 1- I just had my salary appraisal. It wasn't that much but I'm still grateful. Miski naan papano, an increase of 2k (more or less) will help me. Pang transpo ko din yun for two weeks. But what I am really pissed about is the fact that my tax went up to 4.2k. kamusta naman yon!!! ang sakit-sakit na ng tax na
binabawas sa sweldo ko. sa isang buwan, pumapatak ng 8k+ ang tax ko. syet!!! para akong kumakayod sa panggabi para lang magbayad ng punyetang tax. ok lang sana kung maayos ang serbisyo na nakukuha ko sa mga government agencies. ang kaso mo, last week I helped my father renew his passport and darn it! poor sa pinaka poor ang level of service na nakuha ko. hindi na nga nakangiti, sarcastic pa ang tono ng pananalita nung nagtanong ako, next time pag may imbyernang government employee talagang in your face kong sasabihin, "Ang tax ko ang nagbabayad sa isang buwang sweldo mo. Jan mo kinukuha ang pang manicure at pedicure mo kada buwan.busettTtttt !!!

BAD TRIP NO. 1b- I don't know what's with our payroll and benefits department but I think the person behind the department is too dumb (or is "too insensitive" a better word) to see that "money matters" is an urgent thing that needs immediate attention. Ok, here is the case-- one of my QAS (who has been on LOA for a while) did not get his salary this 30th. I really went ballistic when I learned that because I had to go to work on Thursday (last week) just to do payroll (on top of other things). I made sure that the payroll data for team are correct because I really hate payroll discrepancy. I am too sensitive when it comes to money matters. Bakit naman hindi, eh pinagtrabahuhan na nila yan. Kaya dapat lang na buo at tama din ang sweldo. Cut off time was 4pm but I sent the data at around 8pm. JT emailed me back saying that he could no longer entertain the data that I sent since all data from our company have already been forwarded to our payroll provider. SyeTttT!!! Hindi naman araw ang pagitan ng deadline sa oras ng pagsend ko ng emai kung di 4 na oras lang. What was even worse is the fact that we did not get our salary on the 30th. It was 6pm of 31st na! Punyeta talaga! Bulok na palakad. Kung kelan nagkaroon ng payroll manager, saka nagkaka-aberya sa sweldo. Hindi naman dati ganyan. dati 14th and 29th pa lang eh may sweldo na... Ok, going back to my QAS, it turned out that he didnt check the data at all. He just "assumed perfect attendance" for my team and he based the list of employees on the previous payroll data that I sent him... eh kumusta naman. Pucha!

BAD TRIP NO. 2- As a team leader, I am very used with hard-headed subordina
tes. But still, I'm really trying my best to reach out each and ever team member. I wanna build a connection, some sort of trust and most importantly, earn their respect. If one QAS is on the brink of resigning (especially if I find a QAS an asset to the team), I would really encourage this person not to resign. Ang dami kasing career opportunities sa company. But this one QAS really pulls the end of my strings. Konti na lang at mauubos na ang pasencia ko. Isang-isa na lang, bembang ka na sa akin. I'm tired of your litany.

BAD TRIP No.3- Pakialamerang kasambahay. Naku, talaga naman! Nagsisisi ako kung bakit ko tinuruan at hinayaang maglaro ng Wii ang isa naming kasambahay dahil ngayon, sira na ang Wii ng pamangkin ko. The equipment came from Japan so it has a 100v power capacity. Mantakin mo ba namang isaksak ng derecho ang Nintendo sa 220v outlet!!! nak
u!!!! it turned out, she didn't know that she is supposed to plug it in a transformer first. Nagmaganda kasi eh...buti na lang at may kakilala kami sa mall na gumagawa ng mga gaming electronics. We had my nephew's PSP fixed in the same shop. Manalangin ka na lang na di mahal ang pagawa nyan.

Nintendo Wii na walang power...Lintek!

BAD TRIP No.4- I could deal with an imbecile or a child with down syndrome. I know that they are somehow beautifully unique from the others. Pero kung normal na man yung tao at tatanga-tanga, that really makes me wanna kick an ass. Juice ko day. Hindi ka na supervisor, manager ka na! nakakahiya ka dahil kamoteng-kamote ang style mo. Yung sinabi mo sa akin, yang ang sinabi ko kay bossing bago ka pa umakyat sa pagkamanedyer... sus!!!

Tuesday has not been a very good day for me. I hope Wednesday will be a better day. hayyyYyYyY!!!

The goodness in a Boat
During a training for a new campaign, Andrew, our Canadian trainer showed us his fishing license and a picture of his friend riding a boat. He said that back in Brockville, a lot of people are into fishing and he knows a lot of friends who got their own boats.

Yachts and boats are just few of the most prominent things I get to see when I watch CSI Miami. I could just imagine how expensive it is to maintain a boat. When a boat gets old, I couldn't help but think: What will happen to those boats? Will the owner restore it? Will they be resold? Or will they just get abandoned in the yard?

I didn't know that in the U.S., donating a boat could bring you not just Joy and sense of helping those people that are in need but this will also help you financially. As I browse Boat Angel , I found out that boat donations organizations will give you a receipt of how much your boat value is and it turn, you can use the receipt for tax deductions. Sounds like a good deal huh!

My mom is from Surigao del Norte and I know that this province is blessed with a sea that is reach in natural resources. As she would say, 'you will never get hungry in this small paradise.' My grandfather used to own a boat that was mainly used for fishing. When I get old, I will probably own a boat as well but this time, not for the sake of having bread and butter but more of recreation activities. When the time comes that it will 'beg' for a retirement, I will donate my boat to those who are living in the countryside. I'm sure, having a boat, no matter how old it is will make a big difference in their lives. I am not sure though if we have boat charities here in the Philippines. I hope there is so I could have tax deductions as well. LOL

Saging lang ang may puso...
Work is becoming monotonous for me. It no longer stimulate my brain cells at all. Maybe because I am too much familiarized with how the tricks of the trade are being played. It's no longer challenging. Darn it!

About 5 minutes ago, one of my QAS's cellphone rang. Naloka atashi sa ring tone nya! It was not music. It's a conversation. There was a line I couldn't forget--- "Saging lang ang may puso!". I asked my QAS where did he get that wav. file. He told me he extracted the sound from a video in youtube.com. Out of curiosity, I researched youtube on my own. And here is what I got.

Har har har!!! Pano ba maging tao ang saging? Asteeg ang scriptwriter ng movie na ito!!! LOL

A Lasting Taste of Vodka
Monday, July 30, 2007
When I was in Yokohama, Japan way back 2004, I was surprised to see that the city has now learned to embrace cultural diversity. Blame it to my grade school history books where I have thought that Japan can be self-sufficient and with this they wouldn't allow other races to penetrate their society. Luckily during my 4-month stay, I didn't experience any form of racial discrimination.

As I help my sister man her small retail store, I met a Russian girl (whose last name I can't pronounce up until this time LOL) with his Filipino boyfriend. I will admit, I was starstruck to her. She got a slender body and she is really beautiful. She looks like a doll with those curly eye lashes. As she became a frequent buyer in our store, Zoya and I managed to build rapport. Though language barrier was really hard, we still tried to talk about some stuff. I was really interested in getting to know her better since it's my first time to meet a Russian girl (heyyYyy! I think I mentioned before that one of my favorite authors is a Russian,
Fyodor Dostovskey.) Her name is Zoya. It was then I learned that she was able to come to Yokohama because a Japanese (online) lover sponsored her travel expenses. She met the guy through a Russian dating website. Yes, she's one of those online Russian Brides. But the life of bed of roses that she was dreaming was actually the worst nightmare that she ever had.

Anyway, to cut the long story short, she is now an illegal alien in Japan. She once told me that all that she wanted was to provide her family with a better life. She doesn't understand why out of those countless Russian dating scammers, it had to be her to meet such kind of maniac. Oh poor Zoya!
Being a part of a dating website wasn't really that easy for Zoya as she would be asked from time to time if she's actually for real or she's just another hoax. Well, she wouldn't blame those people that gets interested with her as she understands that these people just want to find Russian dating scammers, so just no to waste time, energy and MONEY.

After she ran away from her ballistic fiancé, Zoya tried working in a club and that's where he met Kuya G where he was "tencho". That's how their love story began. I am happy though that she found her one great love through a Filipino, she may not be getting the luxury that a Japanese guy could give her but she's happily in love. Kuya G supports her. Sometimes, Kuya G also sends Zoya's parents some money way back home. It's not much but it's enough. At times, when people would say that they admire Russell and I for enduring long distance love affair, I would then turn to Kuya G and Zoya--- for despite of their cultural differences, they still manage to keep the flame of their love alive ;)

Quality people doesn't speak good english---- Look who is talking!

Rather than feeling insulted, I can't help but laugh crazily over this thing that one of my former QAS has experienced about two weeks ago. Well, the focal point of the coaching session has something to do with what a Canadian call center agent mentioned in a call while talking to a customer.

Agent To Customer (trying to build rapport): `We do have offices in the Philippines.. we actually joke about it because our quality people, the one who audits our calls doesn’t even speak English...`

LOLz Huli ka! Patay kang bata ka!

Knowing the Company's P&P by heart, making statement as such is considered as an Unprofessional Behavior. This resulted to a coaching ticket on the part of the agent. When the agent signed off the coaching form, this is what was written. (Posted as is.. gender of the agent held undisclosed)

Comment:
To all whom I offended

After sitting down with my eps and realizeing what I'v done I want to say I am truely sorry I offended all of you. My intenetions were never to offend anyone. The customer began a conversation and I saught the opertunity to build report not even thinking of my own morals and values. I am niave as far as other countries and should not have said what I said not knowing how wrong I was. I have a great deal of respect for anyone who works in call centers becuase its not the easiest job by any means and im sorry I came across so dissrespectfull. Reading what I said I still am shocked with myself that I would have said something like that and I am very very sorry to everyone. I value my job at (COMPANY) and with (CLIENT SERVICE) and I am very aware that doing something like this again will result in termination. I never wished to offend anyone. I understand that I deeply offended people and compramised the values of (COMPANY) and (CLIENT SERVICE).

I am deeply sorry.

Now who's the one that doesn't speak good English?!

Be Featured
Sunday, July 29, 2007
For a while, I was doing an outrageous blog hopping sessions (for two hours EVERYDAY) in a desire that those blogs that I have hopped in would visit my blog back. Don't get me wrong. That's not the only reason why I do blog blogging as I also enjoy reading their articles but I am not that hypocrite to say that a back visit is not the major reason of doing so.

I happened to come across geekyspeaky.com where
it featured another traffic promotional tool coined as Fechr.com (pronounced as Feature.com)

Fechr.com is a website promotion tool that offers a guaranteed 100 daily visits in exchange of having bloggers promote about their site. For now, being featured in their site is absolutely free but I am anticipating that when the time comes that they get to have 500 visitors per day, they will start charging (but still affordable) 1 penny per visitor. Being the notorious free grabber that I am, I am now getting my blog next in the queue. :)

Be Flat or Fab?
About a year ago, Dove has launched a beauty campaign asking women how they define "REAL BEAUTY." One of the questions that was asked was "Be Flattered or Flat?" with a picture of a flat-chested girl and a well-endowed lady. It made me wonder, does bust size really matters? Although many ladies might not agree with me, having a bust size of 36c topped with a contoured and smoother shape of the abdomen are just few of the most common things that a lady would like to have. I can't blame these ladies though. It's the society that defines the standards for beautiful.

I posted a week ago about my sister who is thinking of getting a tummy tuck. I, on the other hand is thinking weather a mini tummy tuck can save my abdomen. I got some not-so-fabulous flabs and I was thinking that MAYBE, having a well contoured abdomen will even make me more confident as I wear those tight-fit dress and shirts.

I was watching Bones and the episode that was airing has something to do with those socialites and other well-known celebrities opting for some beauty-enhancement operations. I was intrigued with the so-called "cosmetic surgeon Los Angeles." From the way it looks, people really go there to have their beauty-enhancing procedures done professionally and with utmost confident. Well, if ever I'm gonna opt to go under the knife in the name of beauty (and assuming that I'll be financially blessed to afford such kind of operation), I would really go for Beverly Hills breast implants.
I got a bust size of 33b. It's really not that bad compared to a friend who would, from time to time, get picked for being 'flat chested.' It was even more awful because another friend, a gay friend, looks more fabulous than we are because, she (or HE? what ever!) just had a breast implant. I'm gonna be honest. Now that 'she' has a bustier front than us, she makes me feel real insecure also! Oh well, so much with breast implants. I just hope that wherever she had her operation done, things will turn out alright. With those fake cosmetic surgeons around, it's really scary to risk a life in the name of being beautiful.

Wedding Preps Updates
It's been a while since the last time I posted something regarding our wedding preparations. It has to take the back seat since I have to deal some work issues first. But I am now back on track!

Yesterday (Saturday), I went to Cavite to talk to my future mom-in-law to talk about the designs of the gown that the rest of entourage is going to wear. If the decision will only come from me, I'd rather go to Divisoria where I could find good dress makers at really affordable price. So just not to make my MIL feel that I am by-passing her, I decided to get her decision over this matter, after all majority of entourage members will come from Russell's side. When I asked how much does their "suki" charges, MIL told me that it was a walloping P3,000! Juice ko at juice mo! I could find another mananahi who could only charge P1500, same style, same quality. When I told her that we're gonna shoulder all the wedding expenses, kambyo sya na pag simple lang daw ang design eh pede ng P1,500. LOL

I have posted a poll before regarding the designs that my female entourage will wear. We will just rent suits for our male entourage. Here are the final designs for our female entourage.

Flower Girls

Secondary Sponsors

Bride's Maids

I opted for simple gown designs so that they could still wear these gowns in other occasions. Talk about practicality. However, I'd like them to have just one shoe design so most probably, I'm gonna have the ever reliable 168 mall for their shoes.

I also got Russell's padala for me when his parents had a rotary conference in Utah. They had the chance to visit him in L.A. Russell bought some "thank you
cards" and Shall We Dance soundtrack (which by the way made me mad because I told him to buy the DVD movie, not the soundtrack! susmaryosep!)

Thank You cards for male and female, lace for gown jacket and swarovski brooch

Russell also gave me some shirts that will look perfectly with skinny jeans. Kaya lang bibili pa muna me ng skinny jeans. In fairness, Russell knows what kind of clothes will fit me well. Pede ko na syang personal shopper.
LOL Included in his package was a trophy. At first glance, I was really puzzled what was trophy for until this caught my eyes. Corny, pero sige na nga....that was sweet! :)

Next week, I am gonna have Mudrax and Ate (my matron-of-honor) visit their designer. The are gonna pay for their own gowns so the least thing that I could do is to accompany them. I am going to have my first gown fitting on September and I promise that I'll share some pictures with you. :)

Russell just had her mom sent his birth and baptismal cert. He's now processing his certificate of freedom to marry as he is now officially a U.S. citizen. I, on the other hand will process my legal and church requirements para pag uwi nya, we will only have few more papers left to process.

That's all my update for now... :)

Where can I get the most competitive rate of auto insurance?
Saturday, July 28, 2007
I can't remember whether it's from Season 6 or Season of CSI LV, there was one episode that depicted a "Bonnie and Clyde" tandem. The couple threw an enormous quantity of dollars with huge denominations when they reached the dead end of the bridge. Their get away car was a luxury car, a ferrari. As scene flashes back, it turned out that the owner of the car had his ferrari "car jacked" intentionally, because he could no longer afford to pay the mortgage, not even the insurance policy of this luxury car.

Popcy is currently looking for auto insurance brokers that will cover our Toyota VX200 and GLXi sedan ('95) for the next two years. For a while, the GLXi does not have any insurance at all. Now that the insurance for the VX200 is about to expire this October (model 2005), Popcy convinced 'Bunso' to get his car insured as well so that he could process the necessary documents all at the same time. Less effort and time eh? :) Pops is trying to collect the cheapest auto insurance quotes with a more comprehensive coverage from time to time. From those various quotes, he will then get the best deal. It 's a little tedious for my 77-year old father since he has to collate all those flyers and put in one folder. How I wish we have a version of http://www.advantageautoquotes.com in the Philippines.

As I navigate this site, I found out that auto insurance rates also depends on your driving records. If you got excellent driving records, you ca
n qualify for the lowest rates. But what about if you have two records of DUI? hHhHmMmm...

When I get to L.A. and and finally be with Russell, I'll definitely go back to this site as I find this online quoting service really helpful.

As I talk about luxury cars, when Too Fast and Too Furious came out, Russell and I had a discussion about our dream cars. I can't remember what particular car Russell wants ,but me? I want a Lambourgini like this one (and it's better be fuschia pink or else!) LOL

The Naked Truth
Wednesday, July 25, 2007
I am no saint. In fact, I'm probably one of the most liberated errr I mean open-minded girl you can ever meet. No holds barred--- you can even tell me with utmost confident your deepest (sex) secret without me saying "ewwww, that's gross/morbid/crazy." I mean, if some things work for you, who am I to judge you? Watching a video scandal is no biggie for me. I first came across of nude celebrity (sex) scandal with a video--the one starring local TV celebrity Ethel Booba and Alex Crisano...LMAO I was curious enough to know what the real reason why the Nicole-Paris friendship turned from sweet to sour. The next thing I know, I am already watching Paris' award winning act on her video. ahhhHHmmm.... This incident reminds of me of Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege and Scandal....LOL

A friend from the office, who is already in her early 40's, just got herself a DVD copy of the old-time romantic favorite "Pretty Woman." As she watched the film (again), she was surprised that Julia Roberts actually got some nude scenes in this flick. This was never shown in the silver screen during the time it was shown here. Another friend butted in and said, "I already know that, got if from CelebKings." My 40-ish friend and I just stared at each other because we didn't know that somebody (READ: a straight GUY) was eavesdropping in our conversation. Talk about gossiping eh?!

The face behind the blog...
Tags are pouring nowadays. But I'm not complaining. In fact, I'm really enjoying every tags as these lets my readers know me personally (and even better). Today, good cyber bud Noemi tagged me and it's all about the face behind the blog. Sure, you have seen the face behind this blog (ang laki-laki ng pix ko jan sa left side noh!) but as they say, face is just a superficial thing.

I started blogging September 2006, solely for the purpose of wedding updates. I have had my 'things' written in my personal diary (old school noh!). From December 'till June, I stopped blogging because so many things have just pre-occupied my attention and time. I didn't even had a single chance to go blog hopping. It was a career-changing event in the office that triggered me to go back into blogging. Blessing in disguise na rin yung nangyari. I may have lost some things but I have gained a lot of friends. Hmmmm...going back to this tag, here is my share (I patterned it from Noemi).

  • I am 25 years old.
  • I started working right after graduation and has never been a bum ever since. (I hate being a couch potato and never akong nanghingi ng anda kay mudrax pagka gradweyt.)
  • I work better during night-time than day time (that's why I chose a call center job!)
  • I read books, but not the the likes of J.K. Rowling, Nicholas Sparks or Dan Brown. Why? HmmM...ala lang. Dami na kasing nagbabasa ng books na ito... I don't wanna go with the bandwagon. I know some people kasi who read books of these people just because they are "uso" or "sikat". Maybe, I'll get to read their books in the future when raving fans are already pacified. LOL But for the meantime, mas gus2 ko yung book na tulad ng kay Wanda and Lualhati Bautista. Pede na ding isama sa list si Fyodor Dostoevsky because I so love The Brothers Karamasov (miski mabagal ang pacing.)
  • I seldom watch local TV program and I only got one cable channel to watch--- Crime Suspense.
  • I am "always on time" and so I hate people who are wasting other's time.
  • I am a grand planner and I hate it when things won't turn out the way I planned it.
  • I am a notorius Divisoria shopper (ah sus! kebs nakung maantot sa divi...mura naman!)
  • I don't wear make up at work
  • I'm planning to have a baby next year... (ahihihi...calling Russell..kaya mo ba? LOL)
  • I love flip flops. In fact, when I go to work, I wear flip flops. I have several pair of shoes in my pedestal kaya sa opis na lang ako nagpapalit.
Walang Kamatayang E.K (2006)

Curly hair will surely go well with a body of twisted thoughts. Bagay ba sa akin ang kulot?!?! LOL

And here's the instruction to this meme :

1st step - Post a short blog article that includes a photograph (or a series of photos) showing the face behind your blog. If you already showed a photo somewhere on your site (such as in your about page), then make your post more interesting and choose a photo that’s not currently online.

2nd step - Include links to other people that have displayed a photo, or include their photos in your post, adding a reference.

3rd step - Tag as many others as you like in your post to spread the meme.

4th step - If you link back to me here and send an email I’ll be sure to include links back to you. Each person tagged should create their own post and repeat the process.

And... I wish to tag (di po demanding, miski kelan nyo gawin, ayos yon!)

Rockin' Girl Blogger

Just as about I feel a much better today, I found out that two supermoms Kathycot and Mommy Chi have voted for me as one of their faves in their top 5 list. I know this isn't that prestigious but with the fact that what I am writing in this online journal has made some impact on girls like me, the feeling is really overwhelming. Well, to be honest, even before this award, I have always admired the girls I have listed below. Proof to that statement is the idea that I would always make "tambay" and leave messages in their shoutbox from time to time... Kathy said that this things was first initiated by Roberta Ferguson.

'Enuf said, to keep you from the element of guessing on who did I choose for this award, here are my nominees.

1. Kathycot - one hot Caviteña. Even before resurrecting my blog, I have always visited her blog. It was way back 2006 when I was searched google about Island Cove and came across about her blog. That is where she had her reception for her wedding. From that day until this time, I would always visit her blog. Kathy personifies what a good mother, loving daughter and wonderful wife should a lady be like. Actually, she had her days of being "pasaway" but she has morph into a responsible individual after getting married. :)

2. Wella - I met her through w@w. I emailed her (about twice or more) about some wedding stuff way back 2006. I like her. She is real--- honest. Just like me, she had her own drama of long distance relationship. I even tuned in into her saga when after her wedding, Nikky had to go back to the US. It was only this April (or was it May?) that she finally reunited with her loving hubby- that is after more than a year of being separated since they had their wedding.

3. Mommy Chi - Though I would always wish my newly-wed fellow w@wies of getting pregnant ASAP, the idea of me getting pregnant scares the hell out of me. But Mommy Chi, though her chronicles, and her pictures showing how "bundat" she is right now (peace mommy!) showed the beauty and other side of carrying a child into your womb. She can also kick some as$ if the situation calls for it. In some of her posts, she had pointed out some irrefutable statements about women--- that wives are not made to be husbands' slaves. Women are there to support and help men. Therefore, women should be treated with utmost respect. Member kaya sya ng Gabriela? LOL

4. Krizteene - I hope that one day, I could emulate the goodness in her heart. She is very down-to-earth. Life has been testing her but just like bamboo, she won't just fall off. She might bend down but never will any kind of storm can tear her apart. Hang on there girl. (PM me for your CV, I hope I can help you with your current dilemma)

5. Che-Che - Most of the time, friends would often brand me as the "cowboy, bakla or man in the group." Che-che is the one who makes me realize that "hey, I'm still a girl. Babae po ako!" Her kikay antics never fail to amaze me. And oh by the way, as the pictures would tell it, she's one great cook also. Those pictures make me wanna enroll myself in cooking class, otherwise, all Russell and I would eat are just de lata...LOL

I have a lot of other bloggers I want to include in this list but according to Kathy, I could only have five. So whoever reads this posts and wants to vote their own nominees, copy nyo na lang ang post na ito. :)

Russell and Thet goes Lucrative
For a while, Russell and I have have been thinking of putting an online business. You could just imagine how much we have already spent for those cakes, flowers and stuffed toys. Through the course of our 5 year-long distance relationship, Russell has sent me quite a number of these things (trying to make up for his absence). How did he send me this? Through online shopping.

With our experience, Russell and I have been thinking of putting up an online store specifically designed to those Filipinos abroad who want to send some things here in the Philippines ranging from balloons, cakes, flowers, shirts and even animal (champion breed of dogs and cats). But before going over ahead, we were prompted with a question of: how are we going to have an online shopping cart?

This is where the reliability and affordability of ecommerce software will take place. Ashop Commerce provides the most-up-to-date and relevant advice a neophyte businessman (like Russ) would need. Sure, we are not not IT-challenged but we are not professional enough either to install shopping cart software like this. Good thing though that Ashop is a web-based program so no installation is really needed. There are lots of things that we are considering before choosing the best software we could use but one of the major qualifiers we are considering is of course, the cost of having an online shopping cart software. Well, Ashop provides the all-in-one solution as it is not just affordable, we could also have some test-runs to see for ourselves if Ashop is user-friendly. Fastest Way to Get Paid for Blogging

As I go blog hopping from one blog to another, I can't help but notice banner statement like "advertise on blogs".

I have seen quite a number of fellow bloggers who signed up for paid blogging
. At first, I really didn't bother to sign up for any of these paid blogging as my purpose why I blog is to chronicle some important events in my life.

Then I stumbled upon supermom Kathy's blog where I read that she signed up for Smorty.

As I get to know fellow bloggers who get paid for blogging, I was kind of hesitant on how one can really earn money while blogging. So I tried researching first before signing up with this one.

WHAT: Smorty is like a
middleman, a merchant who connects advertisers with bloggers. Just like other paid blogging campaigns, what Smorty members need to do is to write something (opinion or review) with links back to the advertiser. Pretty easy eh?

HOW: However, Smorty has set some criteria before your blog can be approve. Here are just a few to consider before signing up.
  • blog must be at least 3 months month
  • indexed by google and yahoo
  • must have average of two post per week
  • you must have a paypal account- this is the only way Smorty can pay you for every post that you make
With these, I signed up my blog today and instantly, I got two assignments already waiting for my approval. Now, that was really fast!!!

So if your blog meets the above requirements, why not sign up for Smorty? After all, there is no harm in trying. :)

How?
One of my former QAS who is now under my team (again!) is going to be transferred to another team...gulo noh!

She is a bit worried since meron syang "di feel" na 2 members ng ibang team. It all started way back before pa pala, something that I was unaware of. The reason was disclosed to me naman but I would rather not deal with it. Hindi ko na problema yon. Besides, I am not directly involved and these people aren't doing anything wrong towards me. The best thing that I can do is pagbatiin sila. For a positive working atmosphere sabi nga di ba.

I know this is just a matter of mis understanding. Nagsimula sa "parinigan"na lumaki nalang ng lumaki. From what I know, may kagalit din ung 2 girl friends sa lumang team. Sad is, dati ko ding hawak ung nakabangga nila. The reason of their cold war? Another mis understanding due to parinigan...

hayYyYy..kelan ba matatapos ito? Naiipit ako sa 2 nag uumpugang bato.

10 Random Things About my Mom
I was tagged by another hot momma, Mommy Chi and here is my share on 10 Random Things About my Mom.

1. Mudrax is 60 years old already. She had my youngest sibling when she's 38 years old already.

2. Mudrax admits that she didn't do well in school. Unlike Pops (who happened to have his engineering degree from Mapua and Masteral degree in U.P.), mudrax considers herself as one iskul-bukol. She's not ashamed of this though. In fact, she would always tell us funny encounters and stories to ponder about how valuable learning and education are. She graduated with a degree in commerce and she was a banker when she met Pops.

3. Mudrax is a social butterfly. I revealed in number 2 that she didn't do that well in school but I guess you can give her a score of 1 or A when we talk about socialization. At times, during reunions where she would take me as her chaperon, I will just be surprised to know that "this and that" people are her friends. She's also "bakla" in its' real essence. hehehehehe!

4. Mudrax is one hot rocker girl. She knows how to play the guitar and organ. Maybe I got my passion for music from her.

5. Mudrax is very conservative when it comes to having boyfriends. I don't think I have introduced a "boyfriend" to her when I was still in college. One time, I asked my (ex)bf to come to our house. Sa takot ko kay 'inay sabi ko, "classmate ko po sya"... LOL Isang tao lang atalaga ung napakilala ko as "bf" and that is Russell.

6. Mudrax likes collecting figurines (which by the way, REALLY irritates me).

7. Mudrax is a concert-addict. she would always tag me and Ate to Araneta whenever there is a concert which showcases talents from her generation. Andy Williams, the Platters, Engelbert Humperdink are just a few names that I could remember. Pero che! I would rather go to Gateway to watch a movie than watch those concerts. In turn, she would just ask her bestfriend, our kapitbahay (and my ninang-to-be sa kasal), Ninang Puring. She can't tag Pops naman kasi with her since Pops is very anti-social... opposite di ba?!

8. Mudrax is also addicted to Jack Bauer... har har har (nakikipag kumpetensya pa sa akin minsan sa DVD yan)

9. Mudrax spoils all her apos. I guess ganun naman talaga lahat ng lola.

10. Mudrax exudes real girl power. She would tell us stories of Pops's "pamba-babae" and how she beat THOSE women. At one point, she caught Pops dancing "cheek-to-cheek" in one of those bars in Pasay. The song being played during that time was "YOU NEEDED ME." Up until this time, asar pa rin sya pag naririnig nya yong kantang yon. LOL I guess sa kanya ko rin namana ung mataas na threshold for pain and patience all for the name of LOVE.

So that's it! I am not sure who I should tag with this. Baka kasi magkamali ako ng pili so just feel free to answer this if you like this tag :)

Overwhelmed
I would like to thank EVERYONE who wished for my speedy recovery. Aside from the countless number of friendster, yahoogroups and co-workers who extended their greetings on me, I got an enormous amount of support from fellow bloggers. With that, I couldn't take you enough for making me feel better.

Oh well, I did not come to work yesterday (Tuesday) and I still might not come tonight. Though my body temperature has become stable (it was a roller coaster of 37-40 degrees yesterday), I still got a terrible colds and sever headache. As much as I want to report for work today, Mom wouldn't still allow me to come to work. Baka daw mabinat.

Monday has not been a very good day for me. I didn't even consume my 1 hour break. The only time I had the chance to take a break was when I took the picture posted on my previous post (maputla na ko nyan) Next, I have proven that this "mangmang" girl is really NOT doing her job. I have a coaching ticket that was issued way back June 30th but up until this time, I haven't signed it off yet. Coaching tickets have a 72-hour turn around period. Kamusta naman yon! Anong petsa na? Now I know the "hell" that her previous team has experienced from her due to her being inefficient and ineffective leader.

Just when I was about to leave the office (after extending an hour and a half), Mike and Aian approached me and told me of a "change" in facilities that is about to be implemented in the future. nakngpating NAPAKATANGA talaga!!! All she's thinking is the short-term solution to the problem. She doesn't seem to see the bigger picture.; the longer-term effect of what she is proposing. I can't blame here though because she doesn't know a thing about how our campaign works. Kaya nga there are times where I would ask my self, "PANO SYA NA-PROMOTE?" I'm sure once in your career life, you have also asked that question.

I tried talking to JA, thinking that he will understand 'our' sentiments over this issue. But to my astonishment, mukhang gusto nyang palabasin na kami pa ang may kasalanan. OMG!!! At that instant, I promised myself not to "talk" to him anymore. Wala rin namang magagawa. Walang pagbabago. Pabulok ng pabulok ang sistema.

Papa was surprised that I got sick. Weather isn't really that erratic nowadays (and we just installed an A/C set sa sala kaya di ganong mainit sa bahay) so he doesn't seem to understand what is causing me to get sick. Di ko lang masabi na toxic at burat na burat na ko sa nangyayari sa office because for sure, he's gonna ask me to quit my job--- something I can't do as of this tie due to the fact that I'm getting married this December. Alanganin na if I'm gonna quit kasi baka di ako bigyang ng leave sa bagong company.

On a lighter note, I burst into laughter last night when I heard my brother's ka-berks singing the famous commercial jingle on "sinabawang gulay". Instead of "makulay ang buhay sa sinabawang gulay" they changed the lyrics into "makulay ang buhay sa KABILANG BUHAY" LOLZ

O cia, until next update. I still need to take my medicine and I need to get some bed rest.

I'm sick and I need some TLC...
Monday, July 23, 2007
It might be due to the "not-so-hectic" schedule that I had last week that made me sick today. Erika has been sick for a week so I had to take over her team. I am capable of handling a team of 25 people but 50+? Darn it! It's a real pain-in-the-ass. I am the ONLY one who can issue trouble tickets for systems issues, the ONLY one who can call our workforce for change queue during calibration and worst of all, I had to do the PAYROLL of these 50 people ALONE! Kamusta naman yon di ba?! Hello, I am a QA team lead, not Operations Coach or Payroll Master....arrrrgGgg!!!!

I need a break!!!!!!! I feel really burnt out.

I have terrible colds and severe headach
e. I also got slight fever. Oh God, how I wish Russell is here to take care of me. I remember when he was here, he would always take care of me whenever I feel sick. He would always bring me my favorite pasalubong- Chowking's siomai and buchi (babaw ng kaligayan!). If I am in Cavite, he would never leave even if I am asleep. He's always there by my side. I guess, these are some of the petty things I wish I wouldn't have to experience if only he's here.

I need some Russell-mwuahugs...

Sobrang bigat ng pakiramdam ko. I don't think I can make it later tonight. Mama cooked sinigang (na sabi ko gawing nuknukan ng asim kasi ala akong panlasa.)

I know I have said this in almost every post that I made and some of you might be getting tired of hearing this (pero kebs ko, blog ko naman 'to..nakikibasa ka lang eh...LOL), I really miss Russell. Everyday, every week...every moment seems to just pro long the agony. The agony of seeing Russell again, the sense of feeling that somebody is loving and taking good care of you... Masarap nga ang feeling ng in-love but sometimes, when things won't go according to how you want it to be, ang hirap dalhin...minsan kahit anong diskarte, sasablay at sasablay ka din...kahit ayaw mong maging senti at korni,
lalabas ang totoo

hayYyYyYY :(

(pasencia naman po sa walang kwentang post at walang patumanggang pag-iinarte)

Will my gown fit me?
"I will not fit the gown, the gown will fit me!"

This was the mantra of one of my fellow bride-to-be's at a local wedding forum where I am subscribed to.

But really, one of the most perennial issues brides like me have to confront everyday is watching our diet in order to fit our gowns. Some would opt for a fast but not so safe way of losing weight- that is taking diet or slimming pills... EwWww! I have tried one before but then again my body reacted twice the intensity that it should. I looked like more of than a "meth dependent" rather tha being sexy. Besides, I don't wanna risk my health with a few months of being slender.

Every time my girl and gay friends and I would dine out somewhere, I would always face the dilemma of "calorie counting."

I remember watching a koreanovela (I'm not sure if it was Kim Sam Soon) where the lead actress would always have her diet book and a handy calculator. She would seriously take down notes of the nutritional content of what she's eating. If she finds out that what she is eating is way beyond her target calorie intake, she would gladly consult her handbook for better food choices. These served as her calorie counter.

Technology is indeed a powerful tool in making the new generation's life even more convenient. Unlike before where you have to manually do a journal of your diet, there are lots of free calorie counter nowadays. I tried subscribing to one but later on the process of registration, it asked for my credit card number. Being the frugal chick that I am, I would never pay for something if I know I could have it for FREE. hehehehehe!

Oh well, I am just crossing my fingers that I will have the 25inch waist-line that the dressmaker took when our body measurements were taken.

Birth Number
Sunday, July 22, 2007
I got number 8 ! sa mga chinese swerte daw ang EIGHT kasi never ending flow of prosperity daw. hMmMMmm...this sounds a little creepy because most of the things described on this number stand true for me... hehehehehe!

Your birth date can describe who we are, what we are good at and what our inborn abilities are. It also points to what we have to learn and the challenges we are facing. To figure out your Birth Number, add all the numbers in the Birth Date together, like in the example below, until there is only one digit. A Birth Number does not prevent you from being anything you want to be, it may just color your choice differently and give you a little insight.

Example:
March 20, 1950
3 + 20 + 1950 = 1973
1 + 9 + 7 + 3 = 20
2 + 0 = 2
Keep going until you end up with a single digit number.
2 is the Birth Number to read for the birth date in the example.

Having things their own way is another trait that gets them as being stubborn and arrogant. 1's are extremely honest and do well to learn some diplomacy skills. They like to take the initiative and are often leaders or bosses, as they like to be the best. Being self-employed is definitely helpful for them. Being naturally shy they should learn to boost their self-esteem and express themselves freely and seize the moment and not put things off.

Walter, Vincent Van Gogh, Bette Midler, Helen Keller and Mark Hail.

# 6 - THE ROMANTIC

The week that was...
Saturday, July 21, 2007

This is quite a late posting..but hey, late posting is better than never ei?! It's a long read (kasi one-week review itoh!)

July 13- My Japanese brother-in-law came here for his daughter's christening (Socorro Akane). Kuya Seiji bought his first-born (Kenneth) a new drum set and a Wii. Bumabawi daw for the lost times. (My sister and her kids will fly back to Japan after my wedding to fix the dual citizenship of their children.) With the new drum set (and his sandamakmak na toys...talk about being spoiled), we have to convert our garage into his mini studio- psp2, Wii, DVD and TV set of his own and his set of DVDs.)

July 14- Some of my gay team members were asking for a night out just to relieve the stress we are getting from our work. Sulit naman coz we were able to see the comic antics of Ether Booba and the singing prowess of Anton Diva.

July 15- Socorro Akane's christening was held at the Sto. Domingo Church followed by a Reception at Saisaki West Ave. Mejo nahigh-blood ako dito because I saw some UNFAMILIAR faces being tagged along by other neighbors. Naku, pinoy nga naman! 1 lang invited, pero 5 ang dadating! Not that I am madamot but hey, we want to have an intimate affair and anybody who, I find no relation to us at all are considered as intruders! We reserved only 60 people for their ultimate eat-all-you-can buffet but upon settling the payment, the head waiter's head count was 110 people! ANO YAN KASAL??!!!! But then, there's nothing wrong we can do about that, nakakain an eh.

July 16- Ormadites atashi. I needed some bonggang borlog that is why I filed a leave on this date way back pa.

July 17- Ermat's bday. We initially planned dining out at Dampa (near MOA) but due to bad weather, we just had small feast at home. (sorry, I was not able to take some pix). Nagkasya nalangkami sa konting salo-salo at sa walang kamatayang Magic Sing.. hehehehehe!

July 18- My Kuya Seiji left after his short 5-days vacation here in Manila. He will be back by next month daw...LOL (namiss sobra si Akane kasi kamukhang-kamukha nya..si Kenneth naman naghahanap na ng tatay and he is starting to ask questions bakit si daddy nasa Japan. My bro-in-law is thinking of getting a job here in the Philippines na lang daw. I don't know what are thei plans. Things are still on hold.)

July 19- I had to talk to one of my QAS (sayang 'tong QA na 'ito) because of her attendance issues. She hasn't come to work for the past (?) days due to her problems with her foreign (American) husband. If only I am a by-the-book supervisor, she's gonna be terminated. But since I talked to HR about her problem and our HR Dept. gave me the option to decide the fate of this QAS, I decided to keep her. After all, she is SUPERBLY good at what she's doing. She's been a QA for the past 2 years na rin kasi so she already knows the tricks of the trade. It's just that she is experiencing a life-changing crisis and I want her to feel na may kakampi pa rin sya sa mundo. (Last Friday, dinala nya ung tisoy at english-speaking nyang anak sa office kasi wala daw...wala kasing magababantay. Our team didn't mind it. In fact, cute na cute nga kami dun sa bata..bibong-bibo)

July 20- Mejo nasabon ako ng Boss ko (all the way from Canada) over some unfinished tasks which wasn't my fault at all. It was our client's systems fault and poor channel of communication. Over the phone, I told him how frustrated and disappointed I was over what was happening. That was the first time he heard something like that from me. After an hour, my boss called me up again. At first, my heartbeat has stopped that I could hear my breath loudly. I was nervous. I was really surprised and somehow relieved that my boss called me up again just to check and tell me that I need to enjoy my week end and forget about work for a while. He doesn't want me to feel frustrated and disappointed as he is not used to it. He used to "SEE" me smiling when we talk over the phone. He used to hear me being pro-active. He told me that he is recognizing all my efforts, being the senior QA Team Lead and in fact, the incentive program I proposed to him for our QAS will be soon signed by the Executive management..yoOohoOoOo!!!! Amen to that! mabuti naman at urat na urat na ang mga QA ko sa buhay QA nila...LOL

July 21- One of my QAS (who "accidentally" got pregnant) tagged me along with his husband-to-be (a QAS from another team) as they book their caterer for their upcoming wedding (Aug. 28). With the little experience I have of preparing my own wedding, I took the initiative of helping the couple (mejo masalimuot kasi ang kwento nila.) From the office, we went to Makati Med Center for her OB-GYN check up and then we went to Robert Camba's Baler office to book them as the official caterer. After that, we went to Sta. Rita Cascia Parish to process their church requirements. We also went to the PhilAm ClubHouse to check what else we can do to make the place look more appealing to the eyes(mejo bare kasi ung palce eh).

July 22- Here I am in front of my PC. nakakapagod ang inggong ito...Miski makina nago-overheat so what I a planning is to watch, sleep, eat and sleep lang for the entire day... LOL LOL LOL

Here are some of the pix I was able to take for the previous week.

My Brother-in_law bought his son (my nephew) a set of (kiddie) drum set and a Wii... (oh ha..shalah ng pamangkin ko..talo pa si Russ...LOL)

Jerwyn's kiddie bday party at McDonalds. Di daw naka-experience si Jerwyn ng kiddie party when he was small so we planned one. Taken at McDonalds Ortigas Ave. cor Meralco Ave. Branch (lolz kiddie party at 1am? 6 team members were missing as they still have to finish some audits)

The Uy family at the Sto. Domingo Church.

Precious Hipolito-Castelo as one of Akane's christening guests in Saisaki West Ave. "Ate Pre" is a close friend of my sister. She's my nephew's ninang.

Anton Diva a.ka. The Asia's singing Songbird with a "bird". (I'm telling you, she (or he? what ever) can really sing... kakabugin nya si Sarah G. and Rachelle Ann Go. (She was given with P5k (?) when she sang "You'll never walk alone" for a certain mayor in Bantayan Islands... si mayor talaga ohhHh!!!! Sana pinangpa-fiest mo nalang yung 5k. tsk tsk tsk!)

Ethel Booba exuding her "kalaswaan but funny act" as she starred the primtime show of Laffline (July 14)

So there...di pa ko ganong busy nyan..pagpatak ng 'BER months.kelangan ko na talaga ng Centrum o kaya Stresstabs...LOL
