Some people looked down on call center workers. Here in the Philippines, many people assume that it only takes good English and a neutral accent so that you can work for a call center. I once had this kind of customer. It made me cry after I painstakingly troubleshot the customer's computer. And oh, I also worked for Dell as a level 1 technician.
This customer is an abusive one. Though he may have reasons for being pissed off, it's not an excuse to curse the person on the other line. If I was the agent, I would have hang up the phone. QA people will definitely understand it.

i agree with you that it's a no brainer job... my brother for one is one heck of smart kid who works for a call center as well... so i totally feel for you girlfriend...
