No more wedding singer? Which song then?
Tuesday, October 02, 2007
Cat-Cat, one of my QASs is set to leave for Singapore. She's lucky to have the opportunity to work abroad while she's still young. I think, she's only 22. She was offered with a BPO job and she disclosed to me that she was offered with $4500 SG. She told me that this is quite small considering SG's high cost of living but hey, I still think that she will be able to save more rather than staying here. I am genuinely happy for her, really. The only downside though is just I'll be losing a female wedding singer! Dang! By the way, Cat-Cat used to be a theater singer and she did some back-up stint in some of Opera shows in CCP.

With that, I had to think all over again what is going to be my bridal march. I am now left with two male singers. You might be wondering, bakit 2? Eh kasi pareho ko silang QA before (they now belong to different teams) and gus2 ko reliever ung isa para di naman mapagod.Mind you, the first tie I heard these guys sang, talagang natulala ako. I may not be the most qualified person to tell who is good and who is a flop singer but at least, I have a keen ear to classify whether the singer sang a song with the proper note. Pareho naman silang professional singers talaga but they are also my guest. I want them to enjoy the occasion as well. Here are my choices, what do you think?

Magpahanggang Wakas
Performed by: Erik Santos

Kaw lamang
Ang pag ibig ko
ikaw ang syang tanglaw
Sa buhay kong ito

Labis kitang minamahal
Alam ito ng maykapal
Hinding-hindi magbabago
Ang pag-ibig ko sayo

Chorus

Magpahanggang wakas, ika’y mamahalin
Magpahanggang wakas pangakong ‘di magtataksil
Magbago man ang ihip ng hangin
Ika’y bigla lamang lumayo sa’kin
Habang may panahon,pag-ibig Ko'y itutugon
Magpahanggang wakas
Isisigaw ng puso ko’y ikaw parin

Lumipas man ang panahon
Sana’y wag kang mangangamba
Nariyan ako lagi
Sa iyong pag iisa
Tag-araw man ay ulanin
‘di man dumungaqw ang bituin
Wala ng dapat pang gawin
Kundi ikaw ay sambahin

The first two songs were the all-time favorite songs. The third oen was suggested by Mark, one of my wedding singers. The 3rd song is something new to me but I like the lyrics anyway. Now I am having this dilemma, can I have 3 bridal march? LOL Would you mind taking your pick?

I'd go for Magpahanggang Wakas, although the first two eh maganda ... parang nakakasawa na kasi na yun nalang palagi ang wedding march ng mga brides walking down the aisle. Since maganda ang meaning ng song ng 3rd one at bago sa pandinig ng tao, malamang magkaka-goose bumps sila pag naglalakad ka na papunta sa pinakamamahal mo :)

That's right. My Singapore-based sister's apartment rental just went up 56%.

Siguro, the best song for the march is what touches your heart (and your groom's too) the most.

    Congratulations.
