I was supposed to blog about this last Saturday pa I guess, this has to be set aside because something came up. Anyhow, my QAS (the ever reliable Iris) and I beat the scorching heat and stink of Divisoria just because that is the place where I could find the cheapest lace in town. Ganun talaga ang nagtitipid, gagawa at gagawa ng paraan. Carolina's do have a shop in Glorietta 4 but hell no that I would buy textiles from that branch. If am going to buy it from their Divisoria Branch, I will be able to save at least 30% from its original price. From Divisoria, I was able to buy 3 meters (or was it in yards) of lace. Upon learning the price of the lace that I wanted, I feel like I was "electrocuted". LOL It was initially priced at P1000 per meter/yard but I was able to haggle it down to P900. I was also able to buy the brooch that I wanted for the price of P800. Mind you, if I am going to buy the same brooch design in Wedding Library or even during Bridal Fairs, the lowest price I could get from it will be P1,500. (I am experiencing trouble with my media reader that's why I can't upload it's pictures) When I got home, my mother asked me what was the lace for and I told her that I need it for my lace jacket. The design of my gown is going to be similar (but not exactly the same) as one of those Monique Lhuillier's creation. It was more of an inspiration design for my gown. Shempre, secret muna ung final design. Hehehehehehe. The gown below was the gown that Lea Salonga wore during her wedding. I once asked for a quotation from a reputable designer in W@W but it was a walloping P50,000! Juice ko day. I cannot (and will never) spend that much for something that I will wear only once. Nagpapaka-praktikal lang. Instead of spending 50k, I'm just gonna spend 20k. Big savings di ba? Sing ganda pero di sing mahal. The cloth that will be used is going to be mikado silk.
Since the design of my gown has already been set and that measurements are already done, I am now in the process of choosing what is going to be my bridal bouquet. I have the ever famous Boy Mahusay of Dangwa booked as early as August last year. Initially, I wanted to have calla lillies. But being the notorius fickle-minded bride, I am still uncertain of which type of flower I will have. Below are my options.
