| NIP/TUCK |
| Tuesday, July 01, 2008 |
Tell me what you don't like about yourself...? Beauty is a curse on the world.
I got addicted to these lines as I followed the NIP/TUCK series. I am not really into medical-related drama but this series just got me hooked. It’s all about plastic surgeons and how they change lives though changing the things that people want to enhance on themselves. I would also want to get give credit to Julian Mcmahon who exudes sexiness. I just love the butt exposures! LOL I just finished its 3rd season and I am now looking forward of seeing the 4th season. This medical drama series is a big break for me from watching these crime-related TV series. :) Labels: DVD |

| Coffee Prince Outbreak |
| Saturday, February 23, 2008 |
I have read a lot of blogs, more of female blogs actually, raving about Coffee Prince. I admit, i also got hooked on this koreanovela. I even finished the series in just a matter of a day and a half. But my biggest disappointment is how the exciting plot of the story ended up with a not so good "ending". After the male lead discovered that the "annoying boy" is actually a girl, the story started to become boring. The ending too was really not that nice. I know that endings of koreanovela are really not that good but this one, so far has the worst ending. Tsk tsk tsk! Full House is still the best one for me. Labels: DVD |

| Lazy Sunday |

I've seen A Love Story. It was really awesome. I haven't seen any tagalog film in a while so this one is really refreshing.
Now I am back to my 'ol good days. I'm just lying in my bed with a Large pack of V-cut and Tortillos partnered with a 1 Liter of Coke. Talk about being a 'couch potato'.
I just finished CSI Miami's Season 5. I was quite satisfied with the twist of events in this season. CSI Wolfe was in the hot seat for the very same reason why CSI LV's Warrick Brown's issue: Gambling. I thought Delko will die (too) after the earth shattering death of Speedle.
I am now watching CSI NY Season 3. I think I have missed some episodes of Season 2 because I see unfamiliar faces just like Mac's love interest- the English Medical Examiner. Of course, I still like the wit of Montana's prime CSI, Lindsay.
I am also done with the first Season of Heroes. I am pretty excited with how Season 2 will play albeit I haven't seen any spoilers in CS.
I am wondering how the ext seasons of Prison Break and LOST will keep its audience share. The plot is getting more complicated yet more boring, IMHO.
I'm not yet done with my Sunday bunny blog hopping. So those blogs that I have not visited yet, don't fret. I'll pay you a visit, if not today, definitely tomorrow. :)Labels: DVD |

| Koreanovela, again?!? |
| Friday, August 10, 2007 |
I have mentioned for a lot of times that I am such a DVD pathetic sucker. It's week end now and I got nothing else to do but be into sleep, eat---eat, sleep mode. I really find this week end really boring. I have watched quite a number of DVD series and I have finished them all. I got no other DVDs to watch anymore. Although there is still a pile of Desperate Housewives and SmallVille DVDs to watch, I am afraid that such kind of story plot is not just my type. I don't know but the storyline of these series wouldn't "arouse" me at all. In a week, Russell will be moving to Tita Em's house. He is starting to move his things little by little. He is set to come home mid-October and he decided to move out of his apartment. Sayang din naman kasi yung 2 months na rent. Moving out from his apartment means he's gonna lose his DSL connection. That also means that we're gonna have limited time to chat online. hayYyyYy... there are moments where I would just wake up in the middle of the night and I would ask him to go online. I'm gonna miss those moments.
With the very boring life that awaits me, I started counting and reviewing the number of DVDs that I have collected. Boy, I could set up a DVD rental business! LOL Just when I was about to finish fixing the DVD categories, I came across a koreanovela- one that really broke me into tears. It's a love story. I know, I am a very sentimental person but watching love stories, be it movie or TV program is not my cup of tea. I have watched this series through GMA-7 even before I met Russell. At that time, I was still nursing my broken heart from my first boyfriend. It made me realize that no matter what we do, FATE will prevail. If it's not meant for you, you should accept that it's not for you. Stop asking yourself with so many "HOW" and "WHY". You just have to accept the reality no matter how hard and unfair it seems.
Endless Love 2: Winter Sonata is special for me. It's different from any other koreanovelas that I have watched (where you could easily predict how the story will end.) Maybe because it speaks about different shades of LOVE: your first love, true love, possessive love and lost love. I can also relate with how the characters would react on "losing your love"--- getting drunk, being suicidal and having no good disposition in life.
Aside from the fact that it showcases breathtaking winter scenery (which I really prefer over summer), it's the melancholic music that I like. Hear the background music? It's an OST from Winter Sonata. Though I don't understand the lyrics, it somehow communicates with me. As they say, music is the universal language of the heart.
When I was in Japan, I know that this was also a big hit there. I even saw some commercials of the lead actor in TV advertisements. I was able to follow this series in the local TV channel but I missed some parts that's why I bought a DVD copy. Ngayon ko na lang naalala na may copy pala ako nito at di ko pa sya napapanood ng buo. I would have wanted to watch this together with Russell but obviously, he is not here. For the time being, no more CSIs, BONES or NCIS for me. I'll go back to my corny mode. Korni man, totoo naman.

| E-Ring |
| Wednesday, June 13, 2007 |
I have posted in my previous that I am now fond of dvd series which has something to do with crimes and war.
Currently, I am hook with E-Ring which stars Benjamin Pratt as Maj. tuned Lt. Col. Jim Tisnewski. This is another Jerry Bruckheimer productions and so the moment i saw this series in the Crime Suspense channel, it really caught my interest. This series is not as hard-core action as 24. This involves strategic plannning done in the most important ring of Pentagon for any military action that US takes in any part of the world.
I really love watching this. If 24 answers the "how" (meaning Jack Bauer will be as ruthless as possible just to get things done), E-ring takes charge of the "what." It was great, a thousand times better than most of the programs on today. It showed the military from a perspective that few people get to see. It is all to rare when you see officers concentrating on the men and mission and not the politics. These few officers are greatly appreciated by the public. The show was complete from top to bottom. It had great suspense and conflict and it told a great story. The Show is so realistic that it's scary to see how much insight the public has to the Department of Defense. Politics versus Soldiers is the classic struggle that we face everyday. There is nothing on TV better than this show.
From the series, i specifically loved Episode 17- whe somewhere just across the boarder of the North Korean waters, a submarine that Jim's bestfriend, Bobby together with his team, collides with a North Korean nuclear submarine, damaging it. Initially, the korean captain bluffed Bobby that they got nukes in their ship and that Bobby's team should save his (korean) crew in exchange of the nuke. And so Bobby's team did; only to find out that there actually wasn't any nuke. It was just a ploy; a desperate attempt of the korean captain to save his people. The Korean commander is eager for the Americans to save his crew, but he must work against his own countrymen, who have sent another vessel to kill everyone aboard rather than allowing the Americans to get their hands on the Korean submarine. Bobby's team could have save the entire korean crew but due to the limited capacity of their vessel, only 24 people could fit in. There are still 14 crews left on the korean vessel. The people (who were initially) left in the korean people got families while those who are already on the american vessell got nobody. It was soOoOOo touching to see that these people (with no families) have volunteered to be left in ther vessel in spite of the fact that they know, anytime soon, their comrades (from another korean vessel) will attack them. The Korean captain, eventhough he got his family chose his crew, and he said: LEAVE NO MAN BEHIND. I AM GOING TO STAY IN MY SHIP...WITH MY MEN. He just handed a letter to Bobby to be sent to his family. Ay sus! nakakaiyak talaga!
I just hope that there is a season 2 of this series... This is something that I would recommend Russell to watch to when he gets home. :)Labels: DVD, military |

Don't react. If you know me, you should know that i am not the goody-prim-and-proper lady type. Guess, that's one of the reason why people love me. I AM WHAT I AM. I may sound a little to BOLD for others but if i don't care even a bit, why would they care?
Enough. I know that it's been said in my profile that I have a big appetite for DVDs. Well, it has now come into addiction. It's lik,e im gonna die to boredomeness without any DVD to watch over the weekend.
After making the full payment for our wedding reception venue in Intramuros (last week), i headed to quaipo to buy some more DVDs. I got a "suki" there. Mind you, Muslims are there all over the place but I am not afraid at all to go there ALONE. I would go there at least once a month to buy bulk order of DVDs, that's why my suki would give me a big smile because he knows that I order with a minimum of a grabd. As I am really fond of 24, i bought the 6th season eventhough it only has 4 episodes(finish ko na rin 'to and super intense talaga ang latest season compared dun sa iba). Pagod na kong maghintay sa youtube noh! I also bought CSI Vegas season 7, with only 10 episodes. pucha, na-intrigue kasi ako sa last scene ng season 6 where grissom and sarah are in a room.. and ya'know! hehehee! (albeit, no rated R scene was shown but if you are smart enough, then, you will figure out what they did/about to do in that room). for the past 6 months that i've been visiting my suki, he would always recommend me koreanovelas, girlie series and feel-good-romance movies thinking that those are my cup of tea. but hell no! tapos na ko sa stage ng pa-tweetums. I am not that romantic either because i dont have any reason to be romantic (well, at least for the mean time). During my last visit, 'manong', as I fondly call my suki, offered me E-ring, The Unit and Law and Order. Nakakatuwa lang kasi alam nya na ang mga type kong DVD. LOL
And so i got E-ring, The Unit and the First season of law and order (special victims unit). If you are a crime suspense cable channel buff, im sure you know these TV series.
Sometimes, when i splurge money on these DVDs, i can't help but think na sayang ang pera. Iniisip ko na lang na mapapakinabangan din Russell yung mga DVD na yun pag uwi nya. He'll be staying here kasi until March 2008 (He will come home October 2007). kaya in 5 or 6 months, mauubos nya rin lahat ng DVD ko... hehehehe. kawawa naman kasi si bebeh ko. he even didn't have the time to watch Prison Break (season 1) because he is too much preoccupied with his 2 jobs.Labels: DVD, past-times |
