Wedding Paraphernalia

An old friend buzzed me over YM asking me where she can buy authentic rare silver coins. At first, I didn't know she's getting married until she disclosed to me that she is going to be a June 2010 bride. I couldn't be happier for her knowing that the groom is also a long time friend of mine. When I suggested to her if she would rather have unique wedding coins, she insisted on having rare silver coins as this is going to be their ong investment as well. Being exposed to the wonders of internet, I asked her to seach for Monaco Rare Coins. I can't personally vouch for the company's services but based on the reviews that I read, the services is beyond excellence. We had a pretty good time discussing who her suppliers are and it made me reminisce the days when I was preparing my wedding. :)

I Love Weddings!
Friday, September 18, 2009
Once in my life, I worked as a part-time coordinator. Since the group where I belong was just starting back then, our charge fee was very minimal. But I enjoyed every second of it. I quit the job about 2 years ago. The last time I had the chance to talk to one of our team members, they are now doing destination weddings too. How exciting is that huh? I have attendend a beach wedding in Batangas (which, by the way I ohHh so love the mystique ocean view) and I would really love to do wedding coordination in a hotel like the Karisma Hotel or in Azul Blue in the Riviera Maya, the world’s first stress-free hotel. Aside from attending a wedding, it will be like vacation too. Ahhh! Need to unload those office-related stress!

Official Un-edited Wedding Pix

We just got the raw copies of our wedding pictures last Sunday. We were overwhelmed with the number of pictures we got. We even had to play the CD in a DVD player as slideshow for faster navigation. I am not yet finished looking at the other CDs (We got 3, I only had the chance to browse the 1st one- the reception pictures) And I am telling you, choosing 170 pix out of 2000+ pictures is not an easy task at all. Anyway, I just want to share very few pictures that I really like.

How Did We Meet?
Saturday, December 29, 2007
Here is another AVP made by our videographer, Playback Productions. This was shown while we are having our sumptuous meal provided by Hizon's.

Since we don't have any common friends that could testify how our love affair blossomed over the internet, we decided to take pictures and videos of our own. (Sobrang hapit na kasi kami sa oras nun. We couldn't find the time to meet Bim of Playback again). Our guests enjoyed watching this especially the YM part. Mejo di kasi malinaw ung text ng video dito sa Youtube bvut when it was played on the super-uber big white screen of Clamshell, they were all laughing about how our first few conversation turned out. hats-off talaga ako kay Bim. We just gave him the raw pictures, background music, video files, a story board (na mejo magulo) and yet, our love story AVP became a big hit. Promise, walang na-bored sa AVP na ito. Sobrang hanggang tenga ang ngiti ko when our guests gave us compliments na ang saya at sobrang entertaining daw.

Sorry naman for the piece-meal update. We don't have yet the official pictures kasi. I really want to tell my wedding day stories togetehr with photos para mas kapani-paniwala mga 'wento ko...

'Till next update! :)

Je t'adore Paris
Sunday, October 28, 2007

Russell and I have already booked our honeymoon in December. It's not as grand as those of some my fellow w@wies who had a Caribbean cruise, Asian tour or European tour. We just can't afford to have some lavish honeymoon at this point in time. However, Bebeh and I agreed to have a European tour on our 5th anniversary. By then, I am hoping that we can afford to have our dream honeymoon since both of are gonna have our respective jobs plus, we plan to have no babies yet until 2009. I am really not asking for high -end hotels. In fact, being the frugal person that I am, I would always look for bargains and sales when wanting something. I just wanted to be in nice hotels with affordable rates where we could enjoy local cuisine and get to see their finest beaches.

I am sooOoOOo into Paris. I guess my fascination over the romantic Eiffel Tower is something that really triggered my hormones into loving this place. This may sound a cliché to some of you but to me, the Eiffel Tower is the most romantic place on earth. Well, on top of the romanticism that Paris brings, I would always watch the F Channel to see what is hot in fashion industry. Sometimes, I would watch Paris fashion week in F Channel for half a day. While staying in a hotel in France, it’s going to be a must for me to see at least one fashion show. I am really not much a shopper of high-end things nor I frequently pay a visit to Haute Couture shops but I am not just sure if I can stay that way given the fact that Paris, France has so much to offer. Of course, hotels in Paris can, I mean, are really expensive so it will take us a lot of research and time before coming up with a place to stay while in France. I promise I wont bring any credit card with me or else, my billing statements will be bombarded with Paris purchases. Rather, I would just do window-shopping till I drop. LOL.

Paris, promise me you will wait fr me in 5 years! :)

Repetitive Wedding Gift Items, anyone?
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
One of the most perennial problems of newly weds is the repetitive gift items that one can receive during the wedding day. As I insanely think about getting 6 rice cookers and 5 flat irons, I am now thinking of having a garage sale where I could sell all the unnecessary stuff that we’re going to have. I hope that our guest would not mind selling those gifts but I just don’t want these things to get old or unused over the time so we might as well sell it so that we can use the revenue generate from it and use it with other household things we really need. But unfortunately, I don’t have the time and energy to do that. What a good idea instead is to build an online store where I could place all the items for sale. Of course, in order for me to do that I need to have an affordable and reliable shopping cart. Though building a website for an online store is no longer that hard for me since Bebeh is now around, the problem of continuous running of the website will be an issue. I am thinking that I could offer our website to other w@wies who also wants to sell some of their stuff and I’ll just get a commission for every sale. I think this will help both parties. As of this time, everything is yet to materialize. I have to talk to Bebeh first before I invest on a business like this.

PLAY it BACK, please?!
Sunday, August 12, 2007
I have been preparing for this wedding for a year and a half now. Name the host of the bridal and I am there --- from Megamall, to NBC Tent, to PICC, to Rockwell. I guess I'll never get tired attending these bridal fairs because I am really into finding the best suppliers out of our limited budget. We could have opted for a grander wedding but we're gonna be needing our parents' financial help and that is something Russell and I would not want to happen. I mean no harm to those who asked their parents' help with financing their wedding. It's just that we want to prove our parents (and we want to make them proud) that we are already responsible adults. (LOL as if!!!)

For those who are planning to have their church wedding, it's really ideal to book your suppliers are early as possible as this could entitle you big discounts. You can also protect yourselves from those (yearly) price increase. Yes, most wedding suppliers do have their price increase yearly. Sounds crazy eh, but it's true. Anyway, going back to the topic of having limited budget, I booked our videographer (and photographer) two months after I reserved Malate Church (May 2006). They called their company as PLAYBACK PRODCUTIONS. Playback is a joint venture of Chester and Bim (who are both from DLSU). They're former call center agents (People Support ba o CVG?) who got tired of what they are doing---they decided to put up a business of their own. During that time, Playback was just starting and I don't think I have heard of their name in my yahoo support group for soon-to-be-wed(s) where I am an active member. But the thing was, they offered me a very tempting package that I couldn't resist. A package that no other photo/video supplier could give me. Unlike other teams whose specialty could either be just photo or video, I wasn't worried at all since Chester and Bim are into video and Kix Tavora is going to be the one who will capture still photos on my wedding. I know that they are the experts in their own respective fields.

It's been a year and three months now since booked them and I can say that they have done quite a number of weddings since the time I signed our contract. I introduced them to the w@w community and I am really grateful that they are sticking to what they have promised me--- that is giving the best customer service and output they could ever produce. They treat each of their clients special in its own ways. When brides give their supplier ratings/feedback, they all have nothing but high praises for Playback. As some of the brides tend to be bridezillas at some point, communication is really important to us. A text/email with no reply from the supplier would make us paranoid. Fortunately, Chester and Bim have always been prompt in answering my queries. They also got no qualms about payment. I am not sure if it's just for me, but I would just make installment payments whenever I get the moolah. Before, I even had to ask them to meet me in CBTL Gateway at 7:30 in the morning just to give a partial payment. They are also ALWAYS ON TIME. In fact, during those meetings, I am the onw who is always LATE. I don't think I can ask them to do that since they are REALLY REALLY busy nowadays and I don't want to be a bridezilla since my wedding is still 4 months away. Alam ko naman, di naman nila ako pababayaan eh. They have also been really flexible with my requests. They included some freebies which are not really part of the package they have offered me. I am really grateful that I have found Playback. Current rate of videographers (Manila rate-average) are as follows:

2 cam-set up (3 ccd camera) - P40,000
On-site Video- P15,000
Prenup Video/AVP - P20,000

That's a total of P65,000. And that is already the price of photo and video package that I got from them. They even gave me a life feed broadcast. Unfortunately, they no longer the same package as they have offered me. Iba na talaga pag dumadami ang clients. Here is their 1-minute teaser.

Here are the latest video services fee that they offer:

PHP 15,000
1 3ccd camera set-up
3 dvd copies of edited video (25-40)
1 dvd copy of raw video

Onsite - P10,000
extra camera - P5000
avp - P15,000

They also do debuts and baptismals. If you want to get in touch with them, you may reach them thru:

Email: playbackprod@gmail.com
Mobile: 0922-8339942/7251013 (Bim)
0917-9289099/5631289 (Chester)

Ciao!

Reason why the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger...
Thursday, July 12, 2007
While some of my fellow brides are worrying whether wedding ring should be wear on the right or on the left hand, I wondered, "why the fourth finger? why not the middle?" As always, God makes things for a reason.

Please follow step by step, God really made this a miracle.

First, show your palm, middle fingers should be bent and put together back to back.
Second, put the 4 fingers left, tip to tip. (As illustrated below)

Now let us begin, follow the instructions below, to find out why among the 5 pairs of fingers only 1 pair cannot split.

Try to open your thumbs:
The thumb represents your parents, because one day as the cycle of life goes, our parents will have to leave us.

Please close up your thumbs.

Open your second finger:
The second finger represents your brothers and sisters, they have their own family or lives to live. As a result they will also leave us. Now close up your second fingers.

Open up your little finger:
This represents your child or the children you are going to have. Sooner or later they too will leave because they too will live their own lives.

Now close your little finger, try to open your fourth finger where we put our wedding rings:

You will be surprised to find out that it cannot open at all. Because it represents husband and wife, you will be attached to each other.

Now, we know why... :)
