One Horrible Airline Experience
Sunday, January 27, 2008

I am writing this post on a real time basis. We were supposed to be aboard the Cebu Pacific plane right now but Russell and I are in a van terminal on our way to Caticlan instead. Why? Because apparently, we were 10 minutes late off the check-in desk closure. Check-in Desk lang yon at hindi boarding time huh! Damn! We tried to negotiate with Cebu Pacific’s ticketing office personnel but to no avail. Though I blame the super slow van that we took from Caticlan to Kalibo airport (at nasiraan pa kami) but I just feel that CP could have done something to accommodate us. This is not the first time that I had a terrible experience with Cebu Pacific.

About 4 months ago, Russell booked Cebu Pacific (as well) for our honeymoon right after the wedding. There was an error. Instead of booking Dec. 27 to 30th, he booked Dec. 26 till 5:30 pm of Dec. 31st. Eh kamusta naman yon! Haggard! Upon his arrival in the Philippines, I asked him to rebook the flight since I know that rebooking fee is only P300. To my surprise, the customer service rep that Russell talked to told him that he has to pay another P7,600 because of other fees and kung anu-anong kachorvahan. Haller! Magkano lang ung plane ticket naming noh! Wala pang P8,000! Rebooking our flight just because of a simple mistake should not cost another plane ticket (yeah, it seemed to me that we are booking a new set of ticket). With that, I told him that he just have to cancel the booking. So he did cancel it on the first week of November. The CSR told us that the refund of the money, since Bebeh used credit card, would have a turn around period of 60 days. That was actually fine with us because all we wanted is to have our money back. We don’t want to spend money for nothing. We were expecting for the money to be refunded sometime second week of January 2008. Tang ina! It’s already the 27th and yet, no refund! Wow, ang galing noh! Pag refund ng pera, it takes 48 years bago ang ma-process.

Uhaw na ata asawa ko

Anyhow, we initially thought of just having the flight tomorrow. CP only has two flights for today. One is the 10:50am flight (our flight) and the other is at 4:40 (second and last flight for the day). But after so much contemplation, we decided to take SEAIR instead. Why? Because an upgrade for a Cebu Pacific ticket would cost us around P1,600 each (that already P3,200). Then there’s the charge for room rental (P1,500) plus the money we have to spend for dinner again. I was quick to have thought of looking for an Asian Spirit office. There was one in the Kalibo Airport but they don’t accept domestic flights. They just accept Kalibo-Incheon flight. Too bad though that all of their flights are fully booked. So we inquired at SEAIR. The very polite office personnel of SEAIR directed us to their Caticlan office where domestic flights are being taken cared off. Thank God, they also accept credit card. Russell and I no longer have enough cash in our wallet to shoulder another P4,200 (yeah, that’s the price we were quoted with SEAIR for chance passenger).

The van is about to get full now. I am confident that we will have seats with SEAIR since they got the most number of Caticlan-Manila flights. (By the way, we just learned from the airport people that the Caticlan airport only has 3 air carriers: Asian Spirit, SEAIR and Air Philippines...so wala pa ung sinasabi ng Cebu Pacific na may direct flight na sila sa Caticlan. Unless they do have their own airport huh!)

We're boarding SEAIR now. This is only a 35-minute flight from Caticlan to Manila.

Lesson learned: If you are going to ride Cebu Pacific, make sure that you will be at the airport an hour before your flight. Calculate the travel time plus any unfavorable incidence that might cause travel delay. And lastly, if you want to have some peace of mind, DO NOT RIDE CEBU PACIFIC!

Edited (8:26pm) : We just got home. Though we incurred a hefty 4k, I am just happy that we are HOME. Downside though, I have to face 'reality' again by tomorrow. Bummer!

Bus-TED Stories
Tuesday, January 08, 2008
I commute everyday all the way from Noveleta, Cavite to Ortigas Pasig. Perhaps some of you may say that commuting that far is quite exhausting but really, commuting Cavite to Pasig is a lot convenienet for me that commuting from Fairview-Pasig. Maybe because the traffic situation is a little better in Cavite than in Fairview (God bless Novaliches District!). Anyhoo, as I would fondly blog before various stories of my FX adventure (Fairview-Ortigas) my bus adventure beat what I had experience before.
For starters: Last Tuesday morning, as I was on my way home to Noveleta, I had to ride Saint Anthony Bus (para isang sakayan na lang kasi hanggang Cavite City na). As I was walking towards the middle fo the bus, I was seated beside a girl who happened to enjoy playing her MP3 Player (Nokia Phone) in a very loud manner (mukhang burgis eh). When I said loud, it's really loud. Dinaig pa ang lakas ng TV ng bus! I got really irritated. Kasi naman, I wanna havesome serenity sana while travelling but that bitch seemed not to care aboutt he others. Mind you, squite a few of the passengers in our bus were sleeping and yet, parang wala syang pakialam. I didn't say a thing though I really wanna say "WALA KA PANG EARPHONES?!! Hiramin mo muna kaya earphones ko" What I did instead was I transferred to another seat na mas malapit sa driver so that I could the news. After 5 minutes or so, somebody caight my attention, "Miss (pointing his fingers to the MP3 of the biatch), pwede bang hinaan mo yang yang MP3 mo. Mashadong malakas. Tinalo pa angTV. " I silently laughed because the man who stood up said almost the exact same thing I had in mind. I thought that the biatch would tone down the volume of her MP3 but lo and behold! Lalo pang nilakasan! Lintek! The couple seated beside me (By the way, I am seated in front of this lady) uttered "Ang tibay talaga! Parang sa kanya ang bus!" Inspite of all these things that have beens said, the biatch never had her Mp3 toned down. Nakaramdam lang kami ng katahimikan when sge got off the buss somewhere after passing SM Bacoor. Wheeww! Now at least you now why I am calling her "biatch" because she is a really B_I_A_T_C_H.
Today, while on my way to Ortigas (Aguinaldo H-way), a middle-aged man that was seated at the back where I was seated was talking to somebody while in speakerphone. At first, I didn't mind kasi mejo malakas ung TV ng bus. But as time goes by, naririning ko na (unintentionally) ung pinag uusapan nila ng nasa kabilang linya. LQ yata. LOL I heard some familiar lines like "Naiintindihan kita pero hindi mo ako naiitindihan", "Wag kang mag-commit kung di ka sigurado" , "Walang mangyayari sa usapang ito, bukas na tayo mag usap." Sa totoo lang, sana hindi na ni-speaker ni boylet ung nasa kabilang line because I clearly heard what the girl said, "May problema ako, intidihin mo naman ako" , "Sinisisi mo ba ako?". LOL Hindi naman ako chismosa kasi di naman ako nai-eavesdropping. Sya tong nagbabalandra ngusapan nila. Their conversation took a very long time. Imagine, I'm already in Ortigas and yet di pa sila tapos mag usap.
Riding in the bus can be quite fun. It makes me realize a lot of things from people from all walks of life.
Any stories to share?

Kwentong FX
Monday, July 09, 2007
This week started right for me. Russell and I patched up the problem I’ve been trying to deal with for the longest time. My blog was one of those nominated as the Filipino Blog of the Week. My long-lost QAS Dij (who has been on leave for almost 2 months) will be returning for work today. I have slept for more than 10 hours and I woke up with an afternoon cool breeze.
Monday, oh Monday. I don’t know what’s in with this day that somehow, I feel that my body won’t detach from my bed. LOL

As much as I wanted to just lay down on my bed, I can’t! I have to get up, go to work and earn some moolah. I can’t afford to be a potato couch, not now. I just bought our house a 2.5 HP split-type AC system for our living room (Bertdey gip ko kay mama). And that made me financially broke.. huhuhu…Enough said!

To get to MRT North Ave. station, I have to ride a FX. (see… I am a very frugal person, I don’t usually take a cab on the way to work. Baka abutin ng 250 ang fare ko! ) Inside the FX, I was seated next beside to a typical call center worker (bagong ligo, nakasuot kagad ang I.D., nakikinig sa MP3 player sa pagkalakas-lakas na volume). The sound of his MP3 is still tolerable but what I couldn’t take was his continuous murmuring over the style of the FX driver. At some point, gusto ko na syang sagutin. Nakakapikon na din kasi. Here are some of his lines and the retaliation that I said (but only in my mind… hahahahah).

Passenger: Ano bay an, ang bagal-bagal naman ng takbo ng lecheng FX Na ‘to.
(ME to him): Eh di paliparin mo ‘tong FX!

Passenger: Tsk tsk tsk! Nakakainis naman. Male-late na ko nyn eh.
(ME to him): eh di sana umalis ka ng maaga!

Passenger: Sus, naghintay pa ng pasahero. Ang traffic-traffic na nga eh!
(ME to him): Kung gusto mong makaalis kagad, pumara ka ng taxi. Naghahanap-buhay yung tao eh!

Passenger: Ang tanga naman! DI pa nag short-cut.
(ME to him): Ikaw na nga ang magdrive?! Ingay-ingay mong unggoy ka!

As we reached the MRT North Ave. station, I was thinking that "at last, this fcuking vagina monologue is over!" but NO. He still said one thing. Mejo nahirapan kasing huminto ung FX kaya dun kami sa mejo malayo tumabi. He said, "Ay naku naman, ang layo-layo pa ng lalakarin!" Goodness gracious! Buti nalang at napaigil ko ang sarili kong sabihin na "Hoy, IMBALIDO ka ba?!"

I thought I had enough of the FX incident. As I jumped to another FX to take me to Ortigas, I was seated next beside a couple. Nung una, kala ko sweet. Nakapulupot kasi si bf kay gf. That made me feel I miss Russell. Moments later, I was really shocked when I saw both of them kissing each other, lips-to-lips. Hindi naman french kiss but it was a very intimate kiss. I am actually liberal-minded but I still got appalled of that (ob)scene. . Ang sagwa kasi talaga tignan. To make the situation even worse, the guy hugged the gurl as if he was caressing her "front". Lintek talaga! Muntik pa nyang masagi ang mga sinegwelas ko sa harap…(LOL) I really felt uncomfortable seeing these two maggots "making out" in front of many people. At the back of my mind (again!), I wanna say "Hoy, wag kayo dito maglandian…kung di nyo kayang pigilin yang init nyo, kumuha kayo ng motel. Mga ANIMAL!" Of course, I didn’t say those words. I just ignored them and prayed to God that my journey to Ortigas would be just seconds away. Feeling ko kasi, isa akong miron na nanonood ng shooting ng bold movie ni Priscilla Almeda o kung sino mang chipanggang bold starlet.

WHHhhhhhewWwWw!!! What a journey it has been (LMAO parang kanta ni Lea S.). Hehehehehehe! Happy Monday Everyone!
