| Back at Work |
| Sunday, January 06, 2008 |
Thursday was my first day at work after a month-long vacation. As expected, I was welcomed with tons, and I really mean, TONS of emails. Wanna bet how many? It's almost around 1800 emails! Ah huh?! How in the holy cow would I be able to finish reading those in a day? Oh well since I am no superwoman, I just read a quarter of it on Thursday at work, another quarter at home and the other half? I read those on Friday na. I was also welcomed by a handful of tasks that was left before the new year kicked in. It was pretty exhausting. I was greeted with a lot of comments saying how "refreshed" I look now. I guess, being a married lady can make difference huh. Unlike before where I would willingly extend my shift, it's totally a different thing now. As soon as 5am ticks, I would fastly clean up my desk to leave the office and be with hubby. Some of my QAS even told me that I am now a "government employee", if you know what does that mean. LOL Friday- I managed to finish this day much 'lighter' that Thursday. Nothing significant really happened. I ended up visiting the weekly night market in Ortigas though. There I met my former QAS who are now supervisors like me. It was such a great feeling being with them again. We, in fact, are thinking of going to Tagaytay once of these days. Just some some of "reunion." Saturday- We went to Bacoor to attend my inaanak's birthday. Most of Russell's barkada were also there. At first, it was such an awkward situation when I met our supposedly secondary sponsor (who back out 2 weeks before the wedding. The reason? Di daw pinayagan ng boss dahil peak season. Goodness gracious. One year and a half ng nasabihan. In addition, I met again a couple of his friends who were supposed to perform during the wedding but for some stupid reason, it didn't happen. I know I haven't posted that much about my wedding. I am still waiting for the official pictures so that you can have a 'feel' of what I am saying. We went home around 11pm. Since hindi pa kami antok, we decided to finish the remaining episodes of GTO, together with its film version. Sunday- We woke up at around 4pm na. Since Monday is going to be SIL's birthday, we just stayed at home. There was lumpiang ubod and we managed to finish 4 pieces (each of us, Russell and I). May aalis na namang cashier (will continue her studies daw) so we were left with no choice but to man their gas station at night (I mean tonight). Tomorrow is Monday. It brings a fresh start for me. I hope that this week will be much easier for me since James B. is now going to be around again. to help me. Labels: office stories, Week Review |

| Tired but Fulfilled |
| Friday, November 23, 2007 |
So much has happened over the past few weeks. I just couldn't squeeze in some time to write everything in one post, I mean all at once.
November 16
Last week, 4 of my QAS celebrated their birthday's. Too bad, I am really in a tight budget that is why all I could give them is a small box of Toblerone chocolates. I was supposed to be on leave on this day but I just couldn't afford to be absent on this day since it's the birthdays of my 4 beloved QAS. That is why I decided to go on half-day. We had some small feast. I asked my Ate Grace to cook some Carbonara for 19 people. I think I have over estimated the "eating capacity" of my team since there were so many pasta left overs. There were 2 pasta containers and we only finished one so we decided to give the other container to the day-shift teams. Oh, by the way, the four celebrants had some loot bags that was distributed to the rest of the team members.
The lootbags...pampawala ng antok!
The celebrants
We had fun big time. Every body was laughing when one of my fave-funny QAS, Josh, danced to the tune of Happy Birthday!
Somebody is dancing!
Josh: Giving it all out in his impromptu production number
Russell was also there. He helped me as I did some cut-outs for the birthday banner. (side story: one of the QAS from the other team commented how "tyaga" and "maalaga" I am to my team members--wow...nakakataba naman ng puso!) He also brought his digicam and camcorder. So everything was documented. At least, I'll have something to watch after I resign come mid-2008.
The high-school type DIY banner
The event coordinator and the photographer
Oh yeah. Though things are doing well now in the office, I just find my current state in the company too un-needed. I need a place where my thoughts could be heard and where my action plan can be executed. I am a very result oriented person that is why it is such a bummer when things don't materialize according how it was planned because of bureaucracy.
November 18
We completed the second part of our Pre-Cana seminar. It was the last of the 2-part seminar we have to attend as part of the church requirements before getting married. On the first Sunday that we had, there were at least 18 couples who attended the seminar. But on this day, there were only 2! Oh yeah, that 2 couple already includes us. We really didn't know what happened but we're thing of the Feast of Our Lady of Remedies as the main reason why some couples didn't make it on this day. Anyhow, I enjoyed this part better than the other part of the Pre-Cana Seminar. On this day, we were thought how important Sex is in marriage. We were also thought how to make a baby boy and/or a baby girl. Boy, Russell was really listening on this part and he even took down notes. We were quite exhausted after this seminar so instead of going to a spa in SM Bacoor, we just decided to go home and have some sleep.
November 19-21
As what I have posted before, Russ and I had some silly arguments. I am just thankful to God that he gave me Russell because Russell always make me see the other side of the world. That every person has a good side. I won't go any further into this matter but all I can say is that, I am marrying not just a good guy but a GREAT one.
November 23
We were supposed to attend the W@W X'mas Party but since it's also the birthday of my mother-in-law to be, we headed to Tagaytay instead. Mama was quite busy with her Rotary Club affair so we only left Noveleta at around 7pm. When we got there, it's already 8pm. It was really cold out there and too bad, I didn't bring any jacket. I got colds now (AGAIN!). After having a sumptuous meal in RSM Tagaytay, we went to Cafe Lupe (at 10:00pm) to see some live bands only to realize that we have a chikiting with us. Chelsea (Russ only niece) is already sleepy! We just enjoyed ourselves with a 10-minute sound trip while having our coffee in Starbucks. We got home around 11:30. I thought we're gonna snooze at this time but lo and behold. Russell is meticulously fixing the wet PSP of Girlie (youngest sister). Ambait talaga ni Kuya! It's now 8:30 and Russell is snoring like hell again. I really wanted to turn off the A/C because I am feeling real chilly but I am afraid I am wake him up. Good luck na lang sa sipon ko!
Today, we're gonna attend the bridal fair in Megamall to look for our wedding rings. Oh yes, we don't have our rings yet. We were waiting for some people to sponsor our rings. Thank God, he heard our prayers! Oh cia, I am really excited over our activity today.
'Till next update!

Last week, we went to Gardini's Shop in EspaƱa (a long UST)to take Russell's measurement for his tuxedo. I am really excited over this activity. It was like the feeling that I had during my gown measurement. Aheeem... to be honest, I have only seen him wearing suit during his mom's silver wedding anniversary where he posed as the best man. Russell, 4 years ago At Gardini's last weekWe were accompanied by his best-friend, Von who also happens to be his best man. Because we are working on a budget, we can no longer afford to have them made their suits. Instead, we will have them rent suit and pants. It cost us P800 for both coat and pants. They only have to provide themselves white polo and contribute a minimal amount so that they could have uniform neckties. So that it won't look like as if it was really just rented and to avoid them from appearing to be "hangers" (just like the best man below...LOL) Male Entourage are set to have their measurements taken before this month ends. Von trying on one of the suits...errr!!!! Scary hanger! We're also done wrapping the cloth to be given o our female principal sponsors. Though we still have to buy bulk orders or neck ties for our Ninongs and male entourage. Motif: Orange, Yellow and Brown Last Saturday, we were set to go to Makati to attend some meetings but due to the recent Glorietta event, it has been canceled. What we did instead is that I asked Russell and fetch me in the office at 5am so that he could also experience where my team usually hangs out after a very excruciating week. Too bad that we were not able to bring a camera and nobody even remembered to take pictures on their cellphones. He was accompanied again by his very loyal friend, Von. I should say that they also had a great time especially with the good food around and the ever-so-laugh-trip-pseudo-PIATTOS moment. LOL After the night market, we then went to Malate Church to set up an appointment for our Canonical Interview and Pre-Cana Seminar this November. It was a good thing that there was an early wedding here so we were able to witness together how the first part of the ceremony should go. And of, I also upgraded the flowers in Malate Church from the usual mums to 12 pots of calla lilies and tulle. It wasn't that hefty. In fact, it only cost us around P3,500.
Last night, (Saturday) Russell's friends went to his house. It's the first time that they saw each other since Russell came back home. Bebeh wanted me to be there but I beg off as I really wanted them to have some time alone. Besides, he is supposed to visit me in the house today together with his parents. I guess, this is the so-called pamamanhikan. I mean, the real pamamanhikan. No more webcam and internet. LOL
I'm geeting excited now... hihihihihihi!

| Just another crazy Saturday |

Ang lakas ng ulan this week noh?! It makes me wanna lay in bed all day...sleep, watch TV, eat macaroni soup and sleep again. Unfortunately, for somebody like my who has to get up and work to earn my daily living, being a couch potato is not an option. I have always been honest to admit that at times, I really like to quit my job. Well, if not only for the people around I work with, most probably I have already quit my job. I didn't know what the word STRESS means until this year. I am just very grateful that despite of the fact that work sucks, these people around me are always there to cheer me up (miski na "WALK OUT" queen atashi. LOL) This is the reason why I always look forward for week ends. Since last Friday was a Friday payday, instead of just of eating at Ortigas' week end market, we decided to try another thing: KARAOKE! Along Emerald St., there's MARU KTV bar which is open 24/7. So there, as early as 4:30 am, we were already there and we sang really crazy. Anyways, MARU is not the first class KTV bar pero ok na rin. It is P250/head for 2 hours and fee is consumable for drinks and food. any extra hour will be charged P50/head. Marianne and James were supposed to go to the gym but due our Josh's power of persuasion, they gave in and joined us in our "trip." I sang a couple of songs for my very lovable She, who is having a love problem. Akalain mo oh! We finished at around 8:30 am. Hehehehe! If these people are gonna resign or be moved to another team, then I think it's time for me to go... Labels: gay life, people, Week Review |

Gosh! Time really flies so fast. I didn't actually realize that weekend is already here. HmmMmmm, that's what you call- BUSY!
Sa dami ng iniintindi ko ngaun: Russell, wedding, office, team members, client service- I lost track of the days. In fernez, di naman ako shadong na-agit dis week (aside from the Wednesday incident that I had).
But Thank God, I had a very nice Friday. How did my Friday go?
It started with a rant but ended up with a kiss-and-make-up. Avhen and I had our "lunch" sa KAINAN NI JOSEPH STRATA. LOL pramis. yun talaga name ng establishment. It is located at the ground level of Strata 2000 (if you are familiar with Ortigas Centre). Chingkie! Avhen a.k.a Raul had Bulalo. I really wanted to have pork sisig kaso Muslim ang vheykla kaya wichels pede kay ateng ang pork.
Our shift ends at 4am (forever 8pm-4am na ako with Sat-Sun off). I still lots of things to finish so we were able to go out of the office at around 4:30. Naku huh, tama na ung 30 mins. Before nga "ONDA" as in "on the dot" of 4:00am ako kung umalis ng office kaya patagal ng patagal, padami ng padami ang paperworks na kelangan tapusin! Che!!!).
After I finished all the things I need to accomplish, gora na kami sa stairs/lobby ng bulok na Ortigas Building (LOL). Chika muna kami mga 30 mins. Saka kami gumo-go sa week-end market.
Emerald Ave., Ortigas Banquitto
To my disappointed, mejo mahalia mendez pala ang leche. 5 pcs for P20?!! Hellar!
If you're watching Gokusen, you ought to know this. This is Yankumi's yakuza business kaya!
Pagtapos ng walang humpay na paglilibot, we ended up in a table with our hands full of food. Nakakapagd rumonda huh!
May booking yata. HayYy naku, basta nota talaga!!!
Anyhoo, we "packed up" (ano, shooting?!) around 9am. I received a text from a friend since the time of T-REX asking me if I wanna go out tonight because Steve Aoki is going to be in Embassy. "Steve who?" I replied. "Wala ka, di ka na updated ngaun. hahahahaha! ano nga Embassy tonight?" "Hay naku 'neng pass na ko sa ganyan. Hihintayin ko na lang muna si Russell bago rumampa. Happy booking!" Getting a text like that asking me for a night out reminded me that it's been a gazillion years na since the last time I went out with friends. I don't know what is with me but I no longer enjoy going out in such loud places without Russell. Kaya Russell, lagot ka pag uwi mo. Marami as in marami ka ng utang sa akin. Mula sa movie, sa pigging out and kung anik-anik na R&R.
Mejo mahaba na ang post na ito. Siguro it's time for me na bumorlog na ng bongga ng makadami naman mamaya sa YM with Russell. LMAO
Have a nice week end everyone!

| The week that was... |
| Saturday, July 21, 2007 |
This is quite a late posting..but hey, late posting is better than never ei?! It's a long read (kasi one-week review itoh!)
July 13- My Japanese brother-in-law came here for his daughter's christening (Socorro Akane). Kuya Seiji bought his first-born (Kenneth) a new drum set and a Wii. Bumabawi daw for the lost times. (My sister and her kids will fly back to Japan after my wedding to fix the dual citizenship of their children.) With the new drum set (and his sandamakmak na toys...talk about being spoiled), we have to convert our garage into his mini studio- psp2, Wii, DVD and TV set of his own and his set of DVDs.)
July 14- Some of my gay team members were asking for a night out just to relieve the stress we are getting from our work. Sulit naman coz we were able to see the comic antics of Ether Booba and the singing prowess of Anton Diva.
July 15- Socorro Akane's christening was held at the Sto. Domingo Church followed by a Reception at Saisaki West Ave. Mejo nahigh-blood ako dito because I saw some UNFAMILIAR faces being tagged along by other neighbors. Naku, pinoy nga naman! 1 lang invited, pero 5 ang dadating! Not that I am madamot but hey, we want to have an intimate affair and anybody who, I find no relation to us at all are considered as intruders! We reserved only 60 people for their ultimate eat-all-you-can buffet but upon settling the payment, the head waiter's head count was 110 people! ANO YAN KASAL??!!!! But then, there's nothing wrong we can do about that, nakakain an eh.
July 16- Ormadites atashi. I needed some bonggang borlog that is why I filed a leave on this date way back pa.
July 17- Ermat's bday. We initially planned dining out at Dampa (near MOA) but due to bad weather, we just had small feast at home. (sorry, I was not able to take some pix). Nagkasya nalangkami sa konting salo-salo at sa walang kamatayang Magic Sing.. hehehehehe!
July 18- My Kuya Seiji left after his short 5-days vacation here in Manila. He will be back by next month daw...LOL (namiss sobra si Akane kasi kamukhang-kamukha nya..si Kenneth naman naghahanap na ng tatay and he is starting to ask questions bakit si daddy nasa Japan. My bro-in-law is thinking of getting a job here in the Philippines na lang daw. I don't know what are thei plans. Things are still on hold.)
July 19- I had to talk to one of my QAS (sayang 'tong QA na 'ito) because of her attendance issues. She hasn't come to work for the past (?) days due to her problems with her foreign (American) husband. If only I am a by-the-book supervisor, she's gonna be terminated. But since I talked to HR about her problem and our HR Dept. gave me the option to decide the fate of this QAS, I decided to keep her. After all, she is SUPERBLY good at what she's doing. She's been a QA for the past 2 years na rin kasi so she already knows the tricks of the trade. It's just that she is experiencing a life-changing crisis and I want her to feel na may kakampi pa rin sya sa mundo. (Last Friday, dinala nya ung tisoy at english-speaking nyang anak sa office kasi wala daw...wala kasing magababantay. Our team didn't mind it. In fact, cute na cute nga kami dun sa bata..bibong-bibo)
July 20- Mejo nasabon ako ng Boss ko (all the way from Canada) over some unfinished tasks which wasn't my fault at all. It was our client's systems fault and poor channel of communication. Over the phone, I told him how frustrated and disappointed I was over what was happening. That was the first time he heard something like that from me. After an hour, my boss called me up again. At first, my heartbeat has stopped that I could hear my breath loudly. I was nervous. I was really surprised and somehow relieved that my boss called me up again just to check and tell me that I need to enjoy my week end and forget about work for a while. He doesn't want me to feel frustrated and disappointed as he is not used to it. He used to "SEE" me smiling when we talk over the phone. He used to hear me being pro-active. He told me that he is recognizing all my efforts, being the senior QA Team Lead and in fact, the incentive program I proposed to him for our QAS will be soon signed by the Executive management..yoOohoOoOo!!!! Amen to that! mabuti naman at urat na urat na ang mga QA ko sa buhay QA nila...LOL
July 21- One of my QAS (who "accidentally" got pregnant) tagged me along with his husband-to-be (a QAS from another team) as they book their caterer for their upcoming wedding (Aug. 28). With the little experience I have of preparing my own wedding, I took the initiative of helping the couple (mejo masalimuot kasi ang kwento nila.) From the office, we went to Makati Med Center for her OB-GYN check up and then we went to Robert Camba's Baler office to book them as the official caterer. After that, we went to Sta. Rita Cascia Parish to process their church requirements. We also went to the PhilAm ClubHouse to check what else we can do to make the place look more appealing to the eyes(mejo bare kasi ung palce eh).
July 22- Here I am in front of my PC. nakakapagod ang inggong ito...Miski makina nago-overheat so what I a planning is to watch, sleep, eat and sleep lang for the entire day... LOL LOL LOL
Here are some of the pix I was able to take for the previous week.

My Brother-in_law bought his son (my nephew) a set of (kiddie) drum set and a Wii...

Jerwyn's kiddie bday party at McDonalds. Di daw naka-experience si Jerwyn ng kiddie party when he was small so we planned one. Taken at McDonalds Ortigas Ave. cor Meralco Ave. Branch (lolz kiddie party at 1am? 6 team members were missing as they still have to finish some audits)

The Uy family at the Sto. Domingo Church.
Precious Hipolito-Castelo as one of Akane's christening guests in Saisaki West Ave. "Ate Pre" is a close friend of my sister. She's my nephew's ninang.
Anton Diva a.ka. The Asia's singing Songbird with a "bird". (I'm telling you, she (or he? what ever) can really sing... kakabugin nya si Sarah G. and Rachelle Ann Go. (She was given with P5k (?) when she sang "You'll never walk alone" for a certain mayor in Bantayan Islands... si mayor talaga ohhHh!!!! Sana pinangpa-fiest mo nalang yung 5k. tsk tsk tsk!)
Ethel Booba exuding her "kalaswaan but funny act" as she starred the primtime show of Laffline (July 14)
So there...di pa ko ganong busy nyan..pagpatak ng 'BER months.kelangan ko na talaga ng Centrum o kaya Stresstabs...LOL
